Therapy for Illness and Caregiving

Specialized Support When You Need It Most

Virtual psychotherapy for people residing in California, in-person sessions available in Oakland

Whether you’re a patient or caregiver, some of life’s most difficult challenges are coping with acute, chronic, or serious illness, as well as with injury, disability, or medical trauma . They forever affects how we view ourselves, our bodies, our relationships, and how our lives were “supposed” to go.

Specialized therapy is a valuable resource to help both patients and caregivers navigate the specific challenges that health issues present. At any age, stage, or severity of illness or injury, cultivating resilience is possible.

By working collaboratively together, we can explore topics like uncertainty, loss, identity, meaning-making, and mortality. I am nationally board certified in palliative care and have experience across many illness categories such as cancer, stroke, ALS, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, neuromuscular conditions, heart or lung problems, kidney disease, auto-immune disorders, and many more. I also specialize in working with people who have a loved one with dementia or cognitive impairment, though unfortunately do not usually work directly with the person with cognitive impairment at this time.

Amidst everything else you are coordinating and juggling, you made it here. I hope to be a supportive partner through your personal illness or caregiving journey. I would be honored to talk with you for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit. I am based in the Bay Area but provide service via tele-health throughout California.
